This week I had the absolute pleasure of talking with Catherine Marston on the podcast—and let me just say, she’s the kind of guest who leaves you thinking long after you hit “stop” on the recording.
Catherine is a mom, health coach, and 14-time Ironman triathlete (yes… FOURTEEN). But what really struck me wasn’t her athletic accomplishments—it was her honesty around grief, caregiving, and how she found her way back to herself through movement and self-acceptance.
She shared the story of her daughter Helen, who passed away at 13, and how—before that—there was another kind of loss: the loss of expectations, of what she thought motherhood might look like. That moment hit me hard. I’ve felt that quiet grief too.
We talked about the pressure to “do it all,” why self-care sometimes feels impossible (especially when you’re the default everything for your child), and how small shifts—like 10 minutes of movement—can ripple out in big ways.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, like you’re carrying too much, or like you’re the only one asking “what’s wrong with me?”… this conversation will feel like a breath of fresh air.
